Rock Climbing

Rock Climbing
The mountains and crags in and around the Lake Tahoe Basin offer a great opportunity for rock climbing. The beautiful settings of the local climbing sites provide participants with a picturesque venue to learn the ins and outs of this exciting sport.

Our climbing guides are professional and friendly. All guides are AMGA (American Mountain Guide Association) affiliated with extensive experience in the field. Your Tahoe Adventure Company climbing guide will take care of all the details of your trip and offer complete instruction for all levels of climbers. Courses are available at Donner Summit near North Lake Tahoe.

Beginning Rock Climbing
A thorough introduction to rock craft with the emphasis on safety and fun. This course will introduce the first time climber to the concepts of belaying, rope maintenance and safety procedures of top rope climbing. By the end of the course the climber will know how to use a harness, belay device, tie basic knots and understand the importance of communication with your partner. Classes are taught on moderate rock suitable for novices. Cost: $130 per person. 5 person minimum.

Intermediate Rock Climbing
This class is for the climber who has a general understanding of basic climbing techniques and would like to learn to follow multi-pitch climbs. We will cover gear placement and removal, anchor building and removal, and belaying a lead climber. By the end of the course the climber should be able to follow a leader up a multi pitch climb and critique the safety of gear placements and anchor systems. Cost: $130 per person. 5 person minimum.

Trip fees include: harnesses, helmets, climbing shoes, knowledgeable guide and instruction. We offer discounts for groups or corporate outings.

Private Guiding

A private, professional guide will accelerate the learning process and increase your confidence on the rock. Private guiding is available seven days a week to fit with your busy schedule. Skill level and routes are completely tailored. Cost: Based on interest, location and time. Please call for a quote.
