Well, after another mild winter, many trails in the Tahoe Truckee area are clear and mountain biking season is in full swing. Many a local can be seen with a Stand Up Paddleboard, Mountain Bike AND a pair of skis or board on their roof! Spring is a special time in Tahoe and Truckee with 2 and 3 sport days very doable and common. Many of our guests are taking advantage and booking Multisport Adventures with us. Kayak or SUP in the morning and enjoy a guided mountain bike tour or hiking trip in the afternoon. With some moisture arriving this weekend, it looks like one more powder day (at least) may be in our future followed by some great mountain biking conditions after the dirt soaks it up. If you are not familiar with local trails or are new to mountain biking, one of our knowledgeable guides will be happy to introduce you to the area, provide the gear, and even your lunch! 6 Key Items for Winter Adventure in Tahoe1. Quick drying layers: "Long Underwear" pants and two or more tops, depending on the weather and time of day. There are a myriad of quick drying fabric blends out there, both natural and synthetic, but they can be broadly identified by the keywords "wicking" and "fast-drying." These fabrics will keep you warm and dry, where your cotton t-shirt absorbs sweat and can leave you in an uncomfortable and possibly dangerous situation as it hinders your body's ability to retain heat.
2. Waterproof outer layers: Especially if the forecast is calling for precipitation, quality waterproof jacket and pants are a godsend. When it comes to waterproof materials, many brands claim it, but few stand up to the true test (Sun-wet Sierra Nevada snow will separate the best from the rest). Although it usually requires a healthy investment, Gore-Tex not only keeps you completely dry but also breathes out moisture created by your body. A shell layer combined with quick dry base la...

Visitors Love To Adventure With Us"Went Kayaking today with Tahoe Adventure Company, it was a fantastic time! We had called multiple kayaking companies beforehand and they all were closed, luckily we found this place!! So glad they were open because it was a great day to kayak. The weather was beautiful, not too hot and a bit overcast. Nolan was a super welcoming and helpful kayak representative!! He answered all of our questions and helped us, additionally he let us wash off our feet afterwards. Thanks Nolan for all of your help! Thanks for staying open Tahoe Adventure Company!" -Sydney M. Our Adventures"My husband, 15-year-old daughter, and I booked the Friday, December 28 sunset snowshoe tour with Tahoe Adventure Company. It took a while to confirm but once I spoke with Katie we were all set. We were a bit nervous for the tour as the day was a dark 20 degrees with howling winds. We met our guides 30 minute late, but they were kind and patient with us. Once we got geared up and hiked the icy road under the freeway, then we were off. The Pacific trail was in deep snow and out of the wind. We were comfortable the whole time. Our guide spoke about the terrain and glaciers that formed the area. Michelle took some awesome photos of us with the mountain peaks at sunset. All in all, it was a beautiful experience." -Trip Advisor Review Our Adventures"My boyfriend and I did the Sand Harbor Kayak Tour in late August. Cannot recommend the kayak tour enough while you are in Tahoe. Of everything we did in Tahoe (and this was my second trip) this was by far our favorite activity. Sammy was our tour guide and she was spectacular. We kayaked to a small beach, went swimming and rock climbing and when we came back Sammy had set up a whole picnic. She taught us a ton about the area and is a great photographer, she took our favorite photos from the whole trip. The picnic set up, everything we learned about Tahoe and the area, and overall the whole day were fantastic. Sammy was a phenomenal tour guide and made our trip the best. Overall 10/10 would recommend." -Janice D. Water Adventures"Had a wonderful excursion kayaking Sand Harbor area. Guide informative about lake and Tahoe history without it being rote or stale. The packed lunch was light and tasty. Very much enjoyed and hope to do another tour in September when I pass through." -Jonnie B.
