"Registration was easy, and the people on the phone were very friendly and helpful. With less than 24 hours notice, they set up a customized bike ride for my brother and me. We told them we had no previous mountain biking experience but are very athletic teens and would only be a group of two instead of the supposed minimum of four. They let us sign up for a lengthier and more advanced trail (the Flume Trail) than the usual beginner options and even upgraded our bikes for free! Our guide was very nice but not "too nice" (she obviously had experience dealing with teens). She knew the trail extremely well and took some great pictures of us (with our camera, so the pictures were free). We stopped for snacks and lunch (great sandwiches from Safeway), and the guide even showed us a fish restocking station. The biking itself was incredibly fun, but does require a fair bit of athleticism for both uphill and downhill sections (parents, be warned). We rode the shuttle back to the meeting point to get picked up in the afternoon. Fantastic experience overall." -Vincent W.

I went kayaking today with a youth group I volunteer with, ages 10 to 14. We had a great time! The instructors were helpful and knowledgeable, and made everyone feel safe. We paddled out into Tahoe Lake individually, including a boat race, and then the kids got to swim (with their life vests) in the lake, or play games between the kayaks. The bottom wasn't more than 30 feet deep. We spent about 2.5 hours on the water. On the way in, we linked all the kayaks and paddled as a chain. Nice teamwork! Overall a great experience. I hope to return again. -Chris C.

"We did the Sand Harbor kayak tour and LOVED every second! First off the staff is great. Katie booked our tour for us and she was so kind and helpful. She answered all our questions and was so sweet. Tucker took us on the tour and he was so knowledgeable and great with our kids. We had four boys in our tour and he told jokes and swam with them. The lunch on the beach was fun and yummy- complete with drinks and cookies. We highly recommend this company and tour. I can't wait to go back again!" -Samantha D.

We visited Lake Tahoe a few weeks ago and got very lucky because Tahoe Adventure Company had reopened for the season the same day we decided to rent kayaks! They're located in North Lake Tahoe. The process of renting kayaks from them was very easy. They took the time to make sure we got on the kayaks safely which I appreciated. You do sign a liability waiver when you rent. Also they provide life jackets. Make sure to bring a ziplock bag or something to keep your phone in! They provide waterproof bags for a fee. The guys working that day were friendly. They also have several lessons/tours which would be fun to try out in the future since some of them take you to cool coves, etc. Their pricing for renting kayaks is reasonable for the area: $27 for a single and $39 for a double per hour, including all fees. Also if you rent for 2 hours, they offer the 3rd hour free. I also want to give a shout-out to Courtney who answers the phone when you call the company and is THE NICEST person I have ever spoken to over the phone. She's extremely helpful and seemed so great! Thank you Courtney!! -Vidhi S.

"My boyfriend and I did the Sand Harbor Kayak Tour in late August. Cannot recommend the kayak tour enough while you are in Tahoe. Of everything we did in Tahoe (and this was my second trip) this was by far our favorite activity. Sammy was our tour guide and she was spectacular. We kayaked to a small beach, went swimming and rock climbing and when we came back Sammy had set up a whole picnic. She taught us a ton about the area and is a great photographer, she took our favorite photos from the whole trip. The picnic set up, everything we learned about Tahoe and the area, and overall the whole day were fantastic. Sammy was a phenomenal tour guide and made our trip the best. Overall 10/10 would recommend." -Janice D.
