Discover Paddleboarding Tour - $65!

For the beginner who wants to discover Stand Up Paddleboarding in a safe learning environment, this 2 hour special is waiting for you! Discover an easy and accessible sport on the clear alpine waters of Lake Tahoe. Our knowledgeable guide will provide a complete and thorough paddleboard lesson for beginners followed by a leisurely paddle along the shoreline. Additional paddling techniques as well as natural and human history topics will also be covered along the way.

Tour includes Stand Up Paddleboard, paddle, life jacket, knowledgeable guide, introductory lesson, permit fees, natural and human history discussions.

Minimum age: 12 years old. Groups with younger kids can book private tours.


Typical Distance and Time: 1-3 miles. 10am-12pm.
Level of Difficulty: Easy.
Location: Tahoe Vista Recreation Area.
Cost: $65 per person, 2 person minimum.

North Shore Stand Up Paddleboard Tour


An excellent SUP Tour from our beachfront location in Tahoe Vista, Ca. After an introductory Stand Up Paddleboard lesson on the beach, we head out on the water. Our knowledgeable guides point out ecology, geology and other natural and human history along the way.

They will also cover more paddling tips and techniques throughout the day. Depending on conditions, we will tour along the coast of King's Beach and among the boulder fields of Crystal Bay or along scenic coastline towards Carnelian Bay where we get a unique glimpse of some of Tahoe's most beautiful waterfront homes.

This tour is great for the whole family!

Sand Harbor Stand Up Paddle Board Tour

Special Note Regarding Sand Harbor Kayak and Paddle Board Tours: Sand Harbor has reduced their parking to 2/3 capacity and NO LONGER ALLOWS ANY TOUR GUESTS TO PARK. All tour participants must utilize our Shuttle Service.

Welcome to The Ultimate Sand Harbor Experience! This season we have created a new, hassle-free Sand Harbor experience! No need to battle traffic and race to Sand Harbor first thing in the morning in hopes of gaining admission to the park to make your tour. Instead, conveniently meet your guide for a 9am departure on Tahoe Adventure Company’s private shuttle! Upon arrival to Sand Harbor, you will have time to use the restroom, apply sunscreen, and enjoy the beach before setting off to explore the only undeveloped side of Lake Tahoe - The East Shore!

Your guides will first cover a comprehensive kayak lesson on the beach. Once on the water, we paddle along the rustic coastline and iconic boulder fields, soaking up the incredible Sierra views. Your guide will discuss the geology, ecology, and other natural and human history topics throughout your trip. Lunch will be served on one of the amazing beaches along our journey.

Tour includes:
- Choice of SUP, paddles, lifejackets, and dry bags
- Knowledgeable guides trained in CPR/First aid at minimum
- Instruction
- Packaged snacks
- Deli lunch – individually wrapped sandwich, chips, fruit, cookies, beverages. Vegetarian option available.
- Natural and human history discussions
- TAC guides are personally trained docents of the Thunderbird Lodge and are able to share highlights of the lodge on the tour from the water

- Hassle free shuttle into the park and back to your vehicle

Know Before You Go:
- Parking at Sand Harbor often fills up by 8:00am, preventing guests from obtaining parking and missing their scheduled tour. This tour cuts that hassle out and guarantees you a spot at Sand Harbor!
- Guests are encouraged to bring a daypack to leave on the shuttle for accessing personal snacks and a change of clothes after the tour.
- This tour is suitable for those who have paddleboarded before and have a moderate level of fitness.
- Must know how to swim
- Minimum age is 12 years old unless it is a private tour.

Tahoe Adventure Company Shuttle departs King's Beach, CA at 9:00am and returns at approximately 2:30.

Donner Lake Stand Up Paddleboard Tour

Explore the beautiful waters of Donner Lake! Just a short drive from Downtown Truckee and surrounded by the peaks of Donner Pass, Donner Lake is a true High Sierra gem. Your guides will first cover an introductory lesson on shore. Then, we head out on the water for a leisurely paddle where more paddling tips will be offered. Ecology, geology and other natural and human history topics will be discussed along the way. Our paddle explores the many sides of Donner Lake including China Cove and the calm waters of the estuary.

Tour includes Stand Up Paddleboard, paddle, PFD, professional guide, instruction, permit fees, natural and human history discussions and snacks.


Typical Distance and Time: 2-4 miles. 10am-1pm.
Level of Difficulty: Easy to Moderate.
Location: Donner Lake.
